Meteotime 2 - Protected data transmission via long-wave transmitter
The community project 'Meteotime 2' by EFR and HKW Elektronik transmits weather data and other information via long-wave radio, rapidly to selected terminal devices.
The "Meteotime 2" project includes the development of a time-synchronised transmitter control and a data structure that complies with the EFR telegram format for transmission of basic technical data for a wide variety of applications, applying this to the following long-wave transmitters:
- Transmitter DCF 49 - 100 kW Mainflingen
- Transmitter DCF 39 - 100 kW Burg
- Transmitter HGA 22 - 100 kW Lakihegy.
Following successful implementation on these three transmitters, this technology can also be extended in a similar way to EFR's planned transmitter expansions.
