The “all-round carefree package” for modern control tasks in electricity grids
With the Grid Management & Metering Suite 2.0 (GM2S), EFR is expanding its service portfolio in the area of feed-in management and control. The suite also includes key functions for metering point operation, such as gateway administration and metering data delivery – all as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. This new solution extends the previous Grid Management Suite and enables metering point operators to easily and cost-effectively start or switch to a modern range of services provided by EFR as a full service package.
Focus on §9 EEG and §14a EnWG
The Grid Management & Metering Suite 2.0 particularly addresses feed-in management in accordance with Section 9 EEG and control in accordance with Section 14a EnWG. EFR has mastered these tasks thanks to decades of experience in radio ripple control. With the GM2S, EFR now offers the option of expanding existing radio ripple control infrastructures with smart metering systems and control boxes. Alternatively, customers can enter the modern world of metering directly, based on base meters, smart meter gateways, control boxes and a powerful backend system that is supplemented by additional services.
High security and flexibility
The Grid Management & Metering Suite 2.0 is operated in an ISO 27001-certified data center and does not require any local software installation. It is operated conveniently via web browser.
Thanks to numerous interface extensions (“connectors”), GM2S offers extremely flexible integration into existing system landscapes. The modular structure allows users to select exactly the components they need. In addition, network control centers with existing systems and protocols (e.g. IEC 60870-5-104) can be securely connected in order to carry out control tasks via smart metering systems and control boxes in the future.
An end-to-end portfolio
The Grid Management & Metering Suite 2.0 perfectly expands the EFR product range and, with EFR electricity meters, EFR gateways, the Grid Control Unit and the appropriate communication solution, offers an end-to-end portfolio for the following areas of application:
- Feed-in management: Control of EEG systems incl. grouping of systems
- Control of controllable consumption devices according to §14a EnWG: Direct control and schedule configuration of connected control units via FNN-compatible control boxes.
- Grouping and aggregation of smaller systems. Control of these groups via smart meter gateway infrastructure and configuration of schedules for these systems.
- Migration of existing ripple control tasks: Simple conversion or expansion of classic ripple control tasks to intelligent metering systems and smart meter gateways.
