Efficient lighting with EFR Sensor Control

With EFR Sensor Control, public lighting can be controlled smartly without having to operate your own communication infrastructure. The system from EFR GmbH (Munich) offers the long-wave radio path to control the lights and thus makes the maintenance of expensive audio frequency ripple control systems superfluous. Administration and switching also takes place without special hardware, because the software is cloud-based and is operated in the browser. The IT and communication technology used are certified according to DIN EN 27001.

“The uncomplicated lighting control of EFR convinced us”, says Markus Feist from the technology department of AggerEnergie GmbH (Gummersbach). The energy service provider uses EFR Sensor Control to control the lighting in some Oberberg communities  – economically, needs-based and energy-efficiently.

Twilight sensors that can be remotely configured, which report the brightness values via mobile communications, ensure efficiency with EFR Sensor Control. The values of individual sensors or sensor groups can be used as a basis for the switching actions. Switching on and off too frequently can be avoided by specifying a hysteresis interval.

Depending on these limit values, the EFR server triggers switching commands that are sent via long wave to radio ripple control receivers on the lights or switch boxes. In addition, users can issue individual switching commands, for example to check lamps.
