Cellular M2M

The unidirectional EFR longwave broadcast system is complemented by a cellular reverse channel. The cellular expertise of Telefónica, combined with the industry know-how of EFR, enables optimized communications solutions for the energy industry.

The EFR Utility SIM offers economical, industry-specific tariffs. All German cellular networks, as well as neighboring foreign networks, can be used at no additional cost. This ensures optimal network coverage and reduces installation time by eliminating the need to check the availability of different networks.

With its unique private APN access points, the EFR Utility SIM enables data transfer via a closed network. This enables, for example, secure and fast-responding IP-based communications with renewable energy facility controllers.  Industry-specific support makes the EFR solution better than the M2M offerings of cellular providers. For questions about using the SIM card or about the EFR system, the EFR team offers advice to energy providers and grid operators, whether small or large, on specific issues related to system setup and use.
