EFR presents new products from the Smart Energy Device Family

The EFR Smart Energy family includes a perfectly coordinated range of devices, from electronic meters for household and commercial use to intelligent measuring systems – consisting of meters, SMGw and control boxes. For E-world 2024, EFR is coming up with some new products: For example, the FNN basic meter SGM-D4 will also be available as a converter meter in the future. A wireless M-Bus interface for SGM meters and a successor to the control box are also being developed . Further exhibits at the EFR stand 2B118 in Hall 2 include the Smart Meter Gateway SGH-S in the LTE and LTE-M versions as well as the complete range of SGM meters.

EFR exhibits at E-world energy & water
At E-world 2024, EFR GmbH (Munich) will show its Smart Energy family, including the meters of the SGM series: the modern measuring devices SGM-C6 and C8 as well as the SGM-DD, the eHZ meter SGM-SM and the FNN base counter SGM-D4. Here, new device variants and functional modules open up additional fields of application.

Meters: new function modules, basic meters also as converter meters
The FNN basic meter SGM-D4, which can be expanded to iMS using the Smart Meter Gateway SGH-S, will also be available as a converter meter in the future. A double tariff module with wake-up function is also available for the SGM-C8 meter. The modular design saves customers costs when purchasing and warehousing. A wireless M-Bus interface for SGM meters is also planned, which will be developed in cooperation with users.

Smart Meter Gateway: Series production will start shortly
The EFR Smart Meter Gateway SGH-S with LTE (4G) or with LTE-M mobile radio module for the 450 MHz network had already received CC certification from the BSI in September 2023 and proves its interoperability in further in-vivo -Testing with gateway administrators. The SMGw SGH-S is compatible with standard meters for electricity, gas, water and heat and EFR is gradually expanding the whitelist to include additional models.

Control box: Successor version shortly before market launch
A new version of the GCU-S control box is also in the final phase of development, rounding off the device portfolio. Upon request, EFR delivers complete iMS, consisting of the FNN basic meter SGM-D4, the SMGw SGH-S and the control box GCU-S. The three devices are perfectly coordinated with each other and the meter integrates the SMGw and the control box in its housing. The iMS is therefore easy to install and put into operation. The optional incorrect installation protection for the SMGw and the diagnostic options of the service technician tool also have an accelerating effect.
