Funded Projects

EFR GmbH works on projects funded by the European Fund for Regional Development. These include the following projects:

DITour-EE

The aim of the project is digital solutions for smart tourism through sector coupling of electromobility and energy. A detailed description can be found under  http://www.ditour-ee.de/

Within the project, EFR GmbH works on a specific charging infrastructure for the special requirements of the hotel and restaurant industry.

The consortium includes EFR and the following companies and institutions: betterspace GmbH, Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy Systems (IEE), Kassel.

Results of the funded project are OCPP 1.6, Local Offload Load Management, ISO 15118.

Virtual parking garage store

The aim of the project is a system solution for the management of semi-public charging points in multi-storey car parks through cost-effective charging technology, local load management, object-related virtualization, regional aggregation. The goal is interactive tariffing and flexible load provisioning.

Within the project, EFR is working on the development of a specific charging technology that complies with the legal requirements of the law and its testing in the laboratory under real conditions.

Besides EFR, the consortium includes the following companies and institutions: JustOn GmbH, Fraunhofer Institute for Optronics, System Technology and Image Evaluation IOSB, Ilmenau University of Technology, Erfurt Airport Weimar.

Goals of the project work are:

  • New charging box for universal use
  • OCPP 2.0
  • Local charging load management
  • Legally compliant calibration of the charging box

reDesigN

The theme of the funding project is “Resilience by Design for IoT data platforms using the example of distributed energy management TV: resilience at the field level.

EFR works on the resilient field technology.

Along with EFR the consortium also includes
Technical University Ilmenau Department of Databases & Information Systems
Technical University of Ilmenau Department of Software Engineering for Safety Critical Systems
Fraunhofer IOSB-AST
CUCULUS GmbH.

Objectives of the funded project are:

  • Further development of existing products (EV charging boxes) with regard to ensuring the system functions and thus improving the quality of the equipment technology and improving the competitive situation,
  • Increase revenue by extending the ability of EV charging boxes to integrate into platforms to realize higher value energy management capabilities.
